Oaxaca is the perfect destination for travelers that aren't interested in the typical all-inclusive homogenized tourist experience. This retreat will give you the very best experiences that this fascinating region of Mexico has to offer!

Your senses will be dazzled as you wander the historic cobblestone streets, surrounded by 17th century buildings, majestic churches, picturesque parks, and bustling plazas. It's no wonder Oaxaca was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

This area is culturally rich, having been inhabited for thousands of years by indigenous Zapotec and Mixtec peoples. You'll find an unparalleled arts-and-crafts scene bursting from the local markets.

Widely known as the gastronomic capital of Mexico, you can delight your tastebuds with everything from $1 street tacos to fancy restaurants featuring top chefs reinventing local classics.

Oaxaca captivated us the moment that we arrived & our love only deepened as we spent more time exploring the area. This retreat and the activities within it were curated to provide you an authentic experience.

Activities & Yoga

INCLUDED ACTIVITIES:

A walking food tour to see the city, culture & eat our way through local restaurants/markets
Cooking class where we'll prepare a delicious meal with a local family at their countryside property
A private sunset visit to see the ancient pyramids of Monte Alban above the city
Daily rooftop yoga overlooking the mountains & the famous Santo Domingo church
Free time to relax, eat, shop, and wander the colorful ancient streets of this charming & fascinating location

During our time together, we will offer daily yoga and movement classes that are suitable for all levels. Practices will take place on the rooftop deck of our property where we can enjoy the beauty of our surroundings. Depending on the timing of our activities, practice may be held in the morning or the afternoon.

Our schedules are specially created to allow for your enjoyment of personal space and free time. Bring your journal, books, and whatever else you've been wanting to indulge in! We believe in choice and options for your retreat experience, so you can always opt out of any activities in the program should you wish.

Our Property & Accomodations

OUR PROPERTY

Set in an impeccably renovated 18th century mansion, our property faces a small park adorned with leafy trees. One step out the front door leads you straight to the heart of Oaxaca: markets, restaurants, mezcalerias, and more!

When you're ready to unwind from the day's adventures, enjoy the lovely inner courtyard that features an antique fountain and hammocks hanging between the columns. There is also a stunning rooftop deck where you can view 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains, Santo Domingo Church, and the famous Oaxacan sunsets.

ACCOMMODATIONS

There are a total of 14 rooms at our property. Each room has a private, ensuite bathroom. They are also outfitted with a desk, locking closet, A/C, fan, TV, hair dryer, and organic artisanal amenities. Some rooms have windows facing to the exterior of the building, while others face the interior courtyard. See Pricing section below for room options.

BREAKFAST

Each morning, you will be presented with a delicious & fresh breakfast. In additional to traditional continental options, our local cooks will prepare a different traditional Mexican dish everyday to give you a glimpse of Oaxacan gastronomy.

A note about accessibility: due to the age of our property & the historical renovation restrictions, there is no elevator. You will need to be able to use stairs to access the different levels of the building.

5 nights/6 days accommodations

Cost does not include transport from the property on departure day, any necessary health tests/screenings, travel/health insurance, optional activities, food/beverages not outlined, shopping, or gratuities.

Travel Details

FLIGHTS: To allow maximum flexibility, you will book your own flight to/from Oaxaca. There are several different routes available, depending on where you depart from. Many folks choose to arrive early or extend their stay after the retreat!

ARRIVE: Sunday 3/3, afternoon time

DEPART: Friday 3/8, midday or later

ADDITIONAL INFO: US Citizens do not need a visa to travel to Mexico. Your passport must have at least six months validity remaining from the date of entry. At the time this website was published, Mexico does not require a negative COVID test to enter the country and the US does not require a negative COVID test in order to return into the country.

Don't worry, we will send plenty of helpful emails prior to the retreat to aide you in your preparations!

Pricing

Cost is dependent upon room type & occupancy. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Deluxe King Suite - $2350pp double occupancy ($2750 single occupancy)
Only one of its kind, this grand room features a bathtub + lovely views of Labastida Park. King bed, 355 sqft.

King Suites - $2250pp double occupancy ($2650 single occupancy)
These corner rooms look out onto the leafy trees of Labastida park. King bed, 258 sqft.

Junior Suites - $2150pp double occupancy ($2550pp single)

These rooms have a bathtub + shower and overlook the cobblestoned street. King bed, 250 sqft.

Double Room - $2150pp double occupancy
These courtyard facing rooms are perfect for sharing, with two beds & two bathrooms. 2 queen beds, 345 sqft.

Standard Rooms - $2150 single occupancy

These courtyard facing rooms are great for solo travelers. Queen bed, 183 sqft.

A $650 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your space; this amount is applied to the total cost of the trip. The remaining balance can be satisfied in two payments, due 120 & 90 days prior to the retreat. By submitting your registration and deposit to us, you are agreeing to the policies in our Terms & Conditions.
